1989

July 19th, 2015 was the day of the Taylor Swift concert, but more importantly, July 19th was my dear friend's golden birthday.

Allie adores Taylor with her whole heart, and getting the chance to accompany her with front row floor tickets was an absolute HONOR. I also love Taylor's music, as well as Taylor herself (she's kind of a goddess, no big deal)  but it was more important to me to be able to see Allie have the time of her life. There's nothing quite like seeing the people you love be passionate about what they love.

The entire show was magic. The level of joy and energy in that crowd was heartwarming, and just plain freaking awesome.

Now, as a photographer, the fact that I was able to take the following polaroids of Taylor Swift with my own camera is indescribably rewarding, because

1. Polaroids are individual, and unique, seeing as they are film. No do-overs allowed.

2. There's no zoom on this camera, so I'm not lying about how CLOSE we were to her gorgeous self. (unbelievably grateful)

3. It's Taylor, she's kinda the ambassador of polaroids with the 1989 album. Could it BE any more appropriate?

"She lost him but she found herself and somehow that was everything."

some non-'roid shots:

Okay, I'm done gushing. The night was unforgettable, the photos will make it last a lifetime, and of course, what better way to celebrate Allie's 19th birthday? I love you very much, Al, and I hope last night was everything you hoped for and more. You deserve it.

all my love,

Marilyn
