Stop Kiss

This past month I was on the production team for NYU's staging of Stop Kiss. I was the publicity designer, which meant I got to do what I love most, take photos and videos of everything happening around me.

Stop Kiss is the story of two women, Sara and Callie, finding their way and slowly falling in love in the West Village of New York. It begins right after a horrible attack that leaves Sara in a coma, and then goes back and forth between memories and present day to tell the story of how Callie and Sara's relationship develops.

The show was beautifully done, and put together with such a talented team. I was thrilled to be a part of it, and to get the chance to work with friends! Last year I wrote a post about photographing the show Dogfight, and how new and exciting it was to be able to see my girlfriend, and many of my friends at work. This year was even more rewarding, not only because I involved myself more, but because I no longer view theatre with this slight divide between 'me and them.' I view it as 'us,' working together.

I act like a fly on the wall no matter where I go, trying to master the art of constantly documenting while also being engaged. So to have documenting something I'm passionate about be my job on the team, well that's just a field day for me.
