dessertography

 "You are what you eat" they say. But like, what if you actually were? 

 

I've loved desserts all my life, from eating ice cream for breakfast (thanks Dad!) to wearing cupcake dresses with matching socks and headbands. In middle school I was known as the "girl who wears food clothes." I guess I was trying to make a statement, and that statement was: I love food. It's more of an aesthetic thing for me. I just love how beautiful desserts can be, as well as delicious. 

 

For this portrait series, I wanted to make desserts the subject of the photograph, along with the model.  I got the idea after I pinned my pink hair up and I thought of cotton candy! Each shot is dedicated to a different treat, from apple pie, to maraschino cherries, it became a collaboration between myself, and those involved in the project, and it is definitely a series I plan on continuing in the future.
