Last week was fall break, which meant a week to do whatever we chose and go wherever our hearts desired. But my heart desired to go so many places, with so many different people. But this week Lily and I first chose Amsterdam. My family and I lived in the Netherlands for a year when I was about 3 years old, and I have visited again once before, but it was so special to explore this magical city again.

Being here now feels like I am connecting the dots to my past, and it's an amazing feeling of unfamiliarity mixed with nostalgia, all in one. Every canal, wooden shoe, tulip, and waffle (!!!) filled my heart with a sense of admiration for a place that saw some of my first memories form.
My favorite parts included bike riding through Vondelpark, being humbled and inspired by the Anne Frank House, and shedding happy tears over fresh stroopwafels. Amsterdam has such a unique charm, and I can't wait to return again someday.
