Leah’s cousin got married in Colorado this September, and we got the amazing opportunity to fly out, visit the beautiful state, and attend the wedding! It was 3 days of sheer beauty. I think the jump from city to mountains is so drastic that whenever I do make the switch, it feels like entering a new world, and it always affects me so deeply. Not surprising, considering most things deeply impact my emotions.

As soon as we got i the rental car and drove through the landscape, I felt ALIVE. This little weekend trip actually gave me a lot to reflect on, in a good way! Getting the chance to meet Leah’s family was wonderful, and escaping New York refreshed me a different way than I expected. Quick insight: ever since summer in California, I’ve craved nature like a drug, and am reconciling with my city life. But instead of dreading the return, I had a weird sense of contentedness, like I knew I was where I was supposed to be at this point in my life, and I knew it wasn’t quite time to go to the mountains yet. It is not always easy. But I’m just thankful for each and every pretty view I see, and the people with which I can share these views.

I am also SO thankful for Leah, who is not only my right hand gal through all these adventures, but my talented photographer. We got to shoot some awesome shirts for Parks Project, and it was so much fun. Any concept I imagine, she’s always willing to make it happen with me, and it’s such a cool team effort. Here’s to making art in any landscape!

It was so amazing to attend a wedding with my lady. The wedding was beautiful, the mountains were incredible, and every photo made me want to get out and shoot more! That kind of ambition is what I’ll be pushing for in the next few months, even when I’m not surrounded by greenery.
